As this is our sixth year of running Minecraft Holiday club at St Peter & St Pauls Academy in Syston, we are confident we will be able to operate the holiday club safely and still be highly engaging and exciting for children.
We are keeping up to date with Government guidelines for Out of School Settings (located here). Due to this we have to work through our health and safety policy, terms and conditions and amend how we run things slightly this year, and as with everything we will remain reactive to any changes in government guidelines to ensure the health of everyone in this club.

Our clubs are run by fully qualified teachers, enhanced DBS checked staff and fully fledged Minecraft experts! (Although some of the kids will probably still know more than us!)
So what will your child do?
Our clubs use the education version of Minecraft to ensure that children can work together in a controlled, safe and sensible environment. This adds activities and tasks into the hugely popular game and promotes teamwork and doing everything from changing the weather and switching off zombies to exploring historical places and dealing with an erupting volcano. We promote literacy and numeracy skills in the most fun way possible!

Students will also get a solid chunk of learning how to code. We use great tools like Mining Turtles, Code Studio and Scratch 3.0 to get kids understanding principles like algorithms and computational thinking. We also aim to get kids outdoors for computing-unplugged activities. Our tools and approaches are aligned to the KS2/KS3 curriculum for IT & Computing for Primary and Secondary schools nationally.

PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor activities are weather-dependent and at the discretion of the teacher and facilitator. Weather can affect a number of activities, particularly, rain and wind.
